Professional Civil Engineer

Location: Anchorage
Salary: 80,000 – 110,000; DOE

Description: BELL is expanding operations in Anchorage, Alaska and is actively seeking a motivated individual to join our Civil Engineering Department. The Professional Civil Engineer will manage and be responsible for leading project planning and scheduling, construction document preparation, permitting, client communication, and supervision of civil engineering project technical staff. The candidate should possess strong electronic design skills (preferably Civil 3D) and civil engineering design skills related to site planning, grading, utility systems, storm water management, sanitary sewer and water main design, and roadway improvements. The ideal candidate will hold registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of Alaska, or be able to obtain registration within 12 months. It is predominantly a 40 hour a week position in Anchorage, but at times may require some flexibility for jobs in other parts of the state.
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Represent the company in a positive and enthusiastic way
  • Responsible for safe working practices
  • Manage and prepare documents for all land surveying commercial and residential developments
  • Oversee timely document and design submittals
  • Address any issues involving scope, schedule, and budget as they arise
  • Prepare cost estimates and write proposal documents
  • Actively pursue work opportunities within the community

Required Qualifications:

  • The selected candidate must be able to pass background and drug tests, and have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Alaska
  • 5-10 years of experience in Civil Engineering

  • Able to work independently of direct supervision
  • Work well in a team
  • Excellent writing and communications skills
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills, and able to provide effective-solutions during challenges and conflict
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex projects
  • Strong electronic design skills, Civil3D preferred
  • Active involvement in organizations related to the profession or consulting industry is a plus
